Description
A pair of Mid 20th Century hand carved onyx bookends, designed in an Aztec Mayan inspired geometric style. Each bookend is crafted from polished variegated hardstone, exhibiting translucent pale green and white tones alongside opaque orange-yellow and brown inclusions. Each consists of a rectangular base, an upright rectangular support, and a complementary triangular or wedge-shaped piece. The upright support of one bookend displays a textured, dark brown, possibly embedded, backing on one side. No manufacturer’s marks or specific period indicators are visible.
