Description
This ornate Rococo Revival style double bed ensemble features a substantial wooden headboard, crafted from a dark polished wood, likely mahogany or walnut. The headboard presents a serpentine top edge and extensive carved and scrolled detailing, centered by a gilded crest. The ensemble includes a wall-mounted drapery system comprising deep red velvet or velour full-length curtains and an elaborate cream-colored swagged fabric valance with decorative trim and fringe, positioned above the headboard in a half-tester or canopy style. The bedding consists of white linens, two cream-colored patterned bolster pillows, and a deep red patterned bedspread with a jacquard or damask-like design. A matching upholstered bench, in the same red patterned fabric, is placed at the foot of the bed. No discernible text or maker’s marks are visible.
