Description
A pair of framed artworks, comprising a monochrome architectural drawing and a polychrome print titled ‘Parnasse’. The architectural drawing, likely graphite or charcoal on paper, depicts a classical or neoclassical building, exhibiting grid lines. The print, titled ‘Parnasse,’ depicts an ornate Neoclassical-style porcelain urn adorned with chased and gilded bronze elements, featuring figures, putti, and lions. Visible text on the print reads: “Urne de porcelaine, ornée de bronze cizelé et doré, représentant Parnasse, executée d’après un dessin de M^{rs} Percier et Fontaine pour le Palais impérial de Saint Cloud.” (Translation: “Porcelain urn, adorned with chased and gilded bronze, representing Parnassus, executed after a drawing by Messrs. Percier and Fontaine for the Imperial Palace of Saint Cloud.”) Both pieces are presented under glass with a mat in matching gilded, reeded-edge wooden frames.
