Description

A pair of British topographical engravings, comprising ‘Luton Hoo. (South East View) Bedfordshire’ and ‘Remains of the Tower at Sutton, Bedfordshire’. The first, a black and white engraving, was drawn by J.P. Neale, engraved by T.R. Bew, and published on August 1, 1823, by J.P. Neale and Sherwood Jones & Co., depicting a grand stately home. The second is a hand-colored engraving, drawn by G. Barrett, engraved by M.A. Rooker, and published on March 1, 1799, by S. Rawlins, illustrating castle ruins. Both prints are presented in similar gold-toned wooden frames with white mats and glass, reflecting typical late 18th to early 19th-century British architectural and landscape engraving styles.
