Lot 1614:
Description
An Early 20th Century mahogany writing desk, featuring a polished surface, a central drawer flanked by two smaller drawers, turned front legs, and ornate brass drop-pulls with decorative escutcheons, suggesting a Georgian or early Victorian revival style. The accompanying chair, also of mahogany, displays a pierced and carved splat with rococo or Gothic revival motifs, cabriole legs with carved knees, and ball-and-claw feet, indicative of a Chippendale or Queen Anne influence. Its seat is upholstered in a pink damask or jacquard fabric with a repeating pattern.
