Description
A late 19th century mahogany octagonal occasional table, featuring turned supports, a lower slatted shelf, and caster wheels. The dark-stained wood top shows considerable surface wear. Accompanied by a pair of Louis XVI style fauteuils, each with an oval back and slender carved wooden frames, painted white with worn gilt accents. The chairs are upholstered in a discolored, light-beige fabric, possibly velvet. One fauteuil bears a sticker reading ‘Drouot Estimation 40€ – 60€’, and a similar sticker is present on the table.
Condition report:
The fauteuils exhibit significant wear to the upholstery, including discoloration, staining, and fraying. The painted frames show extensive chipping and losses to the paint and gilding, revealing the underlying wood. One fauteuil has a visibly detached armrest, requiring structural repair. The occasional table\'s top has considerable surface wear, scratches, and some discoloration. Overall, the lot shows signs of age and heavy use consistent with its presumed age.
