Description
A George III Hepplewhite style inlaid mahogany writing table, circa 1790. This rectangular wooden writing table features a protective glass top. Its late 18th to early 19th-century period style is characterized by four tapering square legs and a frieze containing a central kneehole flanked by two banks of three drawers each. The drawer fronts are adorned with a distinctive geometric parquetry veneer, likely a diamond-matched or chevron pattern, crafted from mahogany or a similar dark reddish-brown wood, possibly with lighter wood accents. Each drawer is fitted with a circular metal pull and a key escutcheon.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. The polished surface appears intact, and the structure is sound. Minor wear consistent with age is present. A \'DO NOT REMOVE\', \'LOT 214\', \'SOLD AS SEEN\' auction tag is affixed to the upper right corner of the glass top.
