Description
An Edwardian mahogany and satinwood marquetry two-tier étagère, attributed to Edwards & Roberts. The oval tabletops are intricately inlaid with classical motifs in lighter satinwood against a darker mahogany ground, characteristic of the Neoclassical or Sheraton Revival style. The table features a two-tiered design with elegant supports and stretchers.
Condition report:
The upper tier exhibits significant loss, lifting, chipping, and discoloration to the marquetry and veneer, particularly in a large central area. The lower tier shows general surface wear, minor scratches, and some fading consistent with age and use.
