Description
An oil painting on canvas, executed after Claude Gellée, called Claude Lorrain, depicting a classical or pastoral landscape scene. The composition presents an Arcadian vista with figures gathered by a body of water, flanked by prominent trees, and distant classical architectural elements. The artwork is housed in an elaborately carved and giltwood frame, consistent with the 18th or 19th-century style of the painting. A white auction label with ‘LOT 292’ is affixed to the lower right corner.
Condition report:
Generally good condition, exhibiting age-appropriate surface dirt. The elaborately carved giltwood frame shows minor wear, including some losses to the gilding. No significant damage or repairs are visible from preliminary inspection.
