Description

A framed print depicting an ornate Romanov commemorative box. The print illustrates a box described as “probably given to relatives by the Tsar & Tsarina,” crafted from “Jade with gold banding & diamonds surrounding the portraits.” The text further notes it was “Brought to Siam from by Lady Kip, member of the Russian Imperial Family and wife of the Siamese Ambassador.” The depicted box features a green, likely jade-paneled, surface bordered by gold-colored banding and silver-toned scrollwork. The lid is adorned with a prominent double-headed eagle motif, incorporating two winged, bust-length portraits of a male and female figure, encircled by elements appearing as diamonds. The print is presented within a gold-toned wooden frame and a white mat. A ‘ProAuction LOT 62’ sticker is visible on the lower left of the mat.

Condition report:

The print appears to be in good overall condition, with no visible tears or significant discoloration. The mat is clean. The gold-toned wooden frame exhibits minor surface wear consistent with age and handling, but no major damage.
