Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 660:
Description
This lot comprises a rectangular wooden dining table and three associated wooden chairs. The table, consistent with Drexel Heritage Campaign style, features a substantial rectangular top with a visible wood grain and a central pedestal base. The three chairs, in the Drexel Passage style, are crafted from a light-toned wood, likely stained hardwood, and are characterized by curved top rails and backs inset with natural cane webbing. Two chairs are armchairs, while one is armless. All chairs feature upholstered seats; one chair is covered in a multi-striped fabric (pinks, greens, creams), and the other two have plain cream-colored upholstery. No discernible manufacturer’s markings or text are visible on any of the items.
Condition report:
The table displays considerable surface wear, including numerous scratches and abrasions. The wooden frames of the chairs show general scuffs and marks consistent with regular use, but appear structurally intact. The upholstered seats exhibit visible soiling and wear, with one chair having different upholstery.
