Description
An English George III / Regency style side table, crafted from dark hardwood, likely mahogany, and exhibiting characteristics of the Chinese Chippendale taste. It features a rectangular top with a distinctive scalloped edge. The apron beneath the top includes decorative pierced fretwork spandrels at the juncture with its four slender, square-section legs, which terminate in brass casters. The table’s overall design is consistent with late 18th to early 19th-century English furniture. A small, light-colored, illegible tag is tied to one leg.
Condition report:
The table is in good overall condition, with a polished finish. Minor surface wear, including scratches, abrasions, and slight variations in the finish, is present, consistent with its presumed age and use. The brass casters appear original and functional. No significant structural damage or repairs are immediately apparent.
