Description
A Hornby Railways OO gauge model steam locomotive and tender, representing the British Railways Class A4 4-6-2 Mallard. The model is constructed with a dark green plastic body featuring orange lining and is mounted on die-cast metal chassis components. The locomotive cab side bears the printed number 60022 and a nameplate reading MALLARD. The tender displays the early British Railways crest, consisting of a lion standing over a wheel. The mechanism is electric and tender-driven, with visible red and black wire couplings connecting the locomotive and tender units. The model is presented in its original red card window box, which features yellow and black diagonal striping and is printed with HORNBY RAILWAYS, 00 GAUGE SCALE MODELS, and B.R. CLASS A4 4-6-2 MALLARD. The box front also includes a subtitle regarding Gresley’s world speed record holder and an artist’s impression of the prototype.
