Description
A limited edition monochrome print by Tim Hall titled Vaishnavite, featuring a close-up portrait of a man with a traditional tilak, white beard, and headwrap. The image was captured in Varanasi, India, as part of the photographer’s Pilgrimage series during the Makar Sankranti festival in January 2002. The print is presented in a dark grey mount within a simple black frame. Along the right vertical edge of the image, the characters Tim Hall 2002 are written in pencil. In the lower right margin, the characters 4/40 are written in pencil. The reverse of the frame features a white adhesive paper label with typed text. The label states that Goldman Sachs is delighted to present to you with a limited edition print by internationally renowned photographer, Tim Hall. It identifies the image as Vaishnavite from the series Pilgrimage and notes that the artist’s work is exhibited in London, Hong Kong, and New York. The label also includes the artist’s website address.
