Description
An Art Deco style mantel clock manufactured in England by Smiths. The piece features a mechanical 8-day striking movement with a pendulum and a rear-mounted spiral gong. The wooden case is constructed with a veneer in a stepped architectural form, accented by white decorative elements at the corners. The square dial, set within a metal frame, presents a two-tone design with an outer chapter ring displaying Arabic numerals and a central circular section with a dark wood grain finish. It is fitted with a spade-shaped hour hand and a tapered minute hand. Two winding holes are present on the dial face. The brass movement backplate is stamped with the manufacturer mark SMITHS 8 DAY MADE IN ENGLAND.
