Description
A collection of eight promotional plush toys produced by McDonald’s for a 1999 Happy Meal campaign, featuring characters from the British children’s television series The Wombles. The group includes representations of the residents of Wimbledon Common: Great Uncle Bulgaria wearing a white shawl, Orinoco and Wellington in light blue tops, Madame Cholet in a yellow chequered apron, Bungo in a multi-coloured hat and scarf, Tomsk in red and white athletic attire, and Tobermory in a brown apron. The toys are constructed from plush fabric with embroidered facial details and printed fabric clothing. Seven of the items are loose and retain their original white fabric tags, which are printed with character names and the following marks: © 1999 McDonald’s Corp, Made in China, and © EB/FF Ltd 1999. One character remains within its original clear plastic factory-sealed packaging.
