Description
This lot consists of a pair of hand-carved wooden figurines depicting pack donkeys or burros in a folk art style. Each figure features incised decorative patterns, including stylized leaf motifs and geometric line work across the head, neck, and body. The animals are shown carrying carved wooden barrels on their backs and small buckets suspended from their sides by thin metal wires. Gold-toned metal curb chains are attached to the mouth area of each figurine to represent reins. The construction is solid wood with a natural finish and darker staining within the incised carvings to provide contrast. No manufacturer marks, labels, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
Both figurines are in good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age. There is some accumulated dust within the recessed carved details. The metal components show light oxidation. No significant chips, cracks, or structural repairs are observed.
