Lot 164:
Mattel Hot Wheels International Collector's Catalogue 1967 UK Edition
Description
A vintage paper promotional collector’s catalogue produced by Mattel, Inc. in conjunction with Rosebud Mattel. This multi-page, staple-bound booklet serves as an international guide for the early Hot Wheels die-cast vehicle line. The front cover features a yellow background with large red flame graphics and the “Hot Wheels” logo in white. A central illustration depicts a pink/magenta “Custom Fleetside” car. The lower section of the front cover contains a red horizontal band with white text.
The catalogue bears several printed marks. On the front cover, the text reads: “INTERNATIONAL COLLECTOR’S CATALOGUE BY MATTEL”, “© 1967 MATTEL, INC. PRINTED IN U.K. U.K. & FOREIGN PATS. PEND.”, and a model reference number “6200-1111”. Both the front and back covers feature a red serrated circular seal mark containing a crown-wearing child character and a large letter “M”, surrounded by the printed text “ROSEBUD MATTEL TOYMAKERS”. This branding identifies the item as a United Kingdom regional edition issued during the joint venture period between Mattel and the British company Rosebud.
