Lot 169:
Vintage Cast Iron Streamlined Tow Truck Toy
Description
A vintage streamlined tow truck toy constructed from cast iron. The vehicle features a 1930s-era design with teardrop-shaped front and rear wheel arches, a prominent vertical-slatted radiator grille, and a high-mounted crane with a rear hook. The body is finished in a two-tone black and yellow paint scheme. A small dome, representing a siren or warning light, is cast into the cab roof. The interior of the cab is hollow, and the crane is cast as an integral part of the rear bed. The chassis is a single piece with protruding axle mounts, though no wheels or axles are present. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces shown in the photographs.
