Description
A pair of traditional fireside storage items comprising a rectangular coal or kindling box and a matching two-compartment magazine rack. Both pieces are constructed with wooden cores clad in embossed brass sheeting. The decorative panels feature a detailed repoussé coaching scene depicting a horse-drawn stagecoach and figures in a village setting. The coal box is designed with a hinged lid and an internal stay chain. The magazine rack is divided by a central wooden partition and is topped with an arched, cast brass carrying handle. No maker’s marks, signatures, or hallmarks are visible on the brass or wooden surfaces of either item.
