Lot 493:
A Commemorative White Metal Presentation Pitcher and Velvet Case
Description
A white metal baluster-shaped pitcher featuring an ornate scroll handle, flared rim, and ring-turned foot. The body of the vessel is decorated with hand-engraved floral and foliate motifs set within decorative borders. The rim appears to bear faint engraving, but the characters are not legible from the photographs. The pitcher is housed within a rectangular presentation box covered in cabernet-coloured crushed velvet, which is secured by two brass-toned latches. The interior of the case is lined with royal blue satin and purple velvet. The lid of the exterior case bears a small rectangular white metal plaque engraved with the following text: TARRY / MANY THANKS / FROM / REDLAND LADIES / 10.05.2003.
