A Cased Art Deco Sterling Silver Child's Spoon and Food Pusher
Description
A two-piece child’s nursery or christening set in sterling silver, featuring a spoon and a food pusher. Both pieces are designed in a geometric Art Deco style with faceted, angular terminals. The pusher consists of a rectangular blade set at a right angle to the handle. On the reverse of the handles, the items bear a series of stamped hallmarks in rectangular cartouches. These include the maker’s mark CB&S for Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd, a lion passant indicating sterling silver purity, an anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and a lowercase date letter v corresponding to 1945. The set is housed in its original black leatherette-covered presentation case with a white satin-lined lid and a fitted black velvet base.
