Description
A Neoclassical style washstand by Shanks & Co Ltd, dating to circa 1900s. This piece features a heavily veined pink and reddish-brown marble countertop and integrated backsplash. It is supported by four fluted polished metal legs. The cream-colored ceramic or glazed earthenware basin is fitted with separate polished metal hot and cold taps, whose decorative handles are visibly marked „CHAUD“ and „FROID“ respectively, suggesting a French origin or influence.
