Lot 1090:
Description
A pair of chromolithograph prints by Edouard Garnier, depicting 18th-century Sèvres porcelain objects. The first print illustrates a Sèvres soft-paste porcelain vase, dated approximately 1768, featuring a lid and body decorated with twisted spirals in bleu-du-roi and a terracotta/gold hue, adorned with garlands and a classical profile medallion. The second print displays one of a pair of French candelabra from the 18th century, crafted from Sèvres porcelain and chased ormolu, incorporating a central vase-form body, classical figures, and intricate gilded mounts. Both prints are professionally matted and presented under glass within ornate, gold-colored frames. Inscriptions beneath each image specify details like „Sèvres Vase“ and „Candelabra,“ along with materials, approximate dates, and provenance, noting their acquisition by Sir Julius Wernher, prior location at Luton Hoo, and current status with English Heritage at Ranger’s House, Blackheath.
