Description
A Louis XVI style ormolu-mounted inlaid kidney-shaped table, dating to the early 20th century. This writing desk or console features a veneered wooden construction, likely tulipwood or satinwood, with intricate floral and geometric marquetry inlay. It is adorned with elaborate gilt brass or bronze mounts, including a pierced gallery surrounding the top and decorative elements on the legs and drawer fronts. The top is fitted with a central brown leather writing surface, stitched around the perimeter. The table stands on four elegant cabriole legs, terminating in decorative sabots, and incorporates two serpentine frieze drawers with ornate metal pulls.
