Description
An ensemble comprising a large, rectangular overmantel mirror with an elaborately carved and extensively gilded wooden frame, showcasing classical motifs and a prominent crest at its apex. It is positioned above a fireplace mantelpiece crafted from veined green marble, possibly Verde Antico, adorned with gilded bronze or ormolu mounts including a central garland. A small, ornate mantel clock with a dark patinated finish rests on the mantel. The reflected tapestry, featuring a heraldic device with prominent fleur-de-lis, suggests a French origin for the ensemble. The ornate design and extensive gilding are consistent with Rococo or Neoclassical styles.
Condition report:
The ensemble appears to be in good antique condition. The gilding shows minor patination consistent with age. The mirror plate appears largely clear. No specific text or maker\'s marks are discernible.
