Description
A large and ornate French Rococo Revival half-tester ‚château‘ bed, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The main bed frame is constructed from richly figured or burled wood, possibly walnut veneer, complemented by dark stained or ebonized decorative trim. It features elaborately carved cabriole legs, which may incorporate brass or bronze accents. The prominent half-tester canopy is draped in a light brown fabric with matching decorative trim. The bed is presented with white linen, two light brown velvet bolster pillows, and a decorative throw in a red, gold, and cream patterned textile. No visible maker’s marks or identifying inscriptions are discernible.
