Description
An oil painting by Sir William Beechey, R.A., depicting a full-length portrait of Miss Mary Payne, later Mrs. Dolphin. The subject is shown in Neoclassical/Regency-era white attire, holding a thrush, set within a dark, atmospheric wooded landscape where an eagle swoops towards her. The painting is presented in an ornate, gilded wooden frame. A prominent wooden plaque on the frame reads: „Portrait of Miss Mary Payne Later Mrs Dolphin By Sir William Beechey R.A.“.
