Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 1633:
Description
A collection of mahogany furniture, comprising a Pembroke table, two occasional tables, a shield-back side chair, and a chest of drawers. The Pembroke table is of drop-leaf design with a consistent dark finish. The shield-back side chair features a carved urn and floral motif splat, indicative of late 18th to early 19th-century neoclassical design, and an upholstered seat in red and gold striped fabric. One of the occasional tables is characterized by its shaped top, cabriole legs, and a lower stretcher shelf, suggesting a Queen Anne or Rococo Revival influence. The four-drawer chest features two smaller drawers over two wider ones, fitted with brass ring pulls and bracket feet, consistent with a Georgian or Neoclassical aesthetic. All items are constructed from dark stained timber, likely mahogany.
