Description
An English William IV period fold-over card table, constructed from rosewood exhibiting a deep grain. The rectangular hinged top is designed to fold open, revealing a green felt playing surface, with the underside displaying the natural wood finish. It stands on a turned central pedestal terminating in a substantial quatrefoil-shaped base with splayed feet, fitted with what appear to be castors or protective glides. No discernible text or manufacturer’s markings are visible.
Condition report:
Good antique condition, consistent with age and use. Displays an aged patina. Visible wear, surface scratches, and some loss to the finish, particularly along the edges and on the exterior when folded. The felt playing surface shows minor wear.
