Description
An ornate, rectangular wall mirror featuring a highly sculptural, gilded frame executed in a Rococo style. The frame is characterized by extensive C-scrolls, asymmetric foliage, floral motifs, and shell-like cartouches. The frame appears to be carved wood, possibly gessoed and gilded, surrounding a clear, flat mirror plate.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. The gilding shows a rich, aged patination consistent with its style and age. Minor wear and surface abrasions commensurate with age and use. No significant losses or repairs are immediately apparent.
