Description
A Hepplewhite Style Serpentine Mahogany Sideboard. This serpentine-front sideboard or server exhibits characteristics of the Neoclassical style. Constructed primarily of mahogany, it features highly figured crotch or flame grain veneer on its two central drawers and flanking cabinet doors. The piece stands on four tapered square legs and is fitted with oval brass backplates and ring-style pull handles. No manufacturer’s marks or original textual inscriptions are visible.
Condition report:
The rich, dark finish appears largely intact. Minor surface wear is visible on the top. Overall apparent condition is good for an antique, with no obvious major damage or repairs.
