Description
A twenty-piece vintage Japanese Kutani porcelain tea set, also referred to as chinaware, featuring a distinctive Geisha lithophane. The set comprises one lidded teapot, one lidded sugar bowl, six small plates, and twelve teacups. Each piece is decorated with a hand-painted or transfer-printed scene depicting traditional Japanese-style figures, typically a woman and a child, set amidst blue iris flowers and a light blue and brown landscape. Gilt accents adorn the rims and handles. The underside of one plate bears a red/orange mark with two characters, translating to ‚Kutani‘ (九谷), confirming its origin as Kutani ware.
