The circular, silver-toned metal medal features a crowned bust of Queen Victoria on the obverse, partially inscribed ‚VICTORIA DEI GRA‘. The reverse is enamelled, displaying a quartered shield with heraldic devices, divided by a cross, and surrounded by the inscription ‚REG 1887 FID DEF BRITT‘. The visible text translates to ‚Victoria, by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith, ‚ with ‚1887‘ indicating its likely period. The accompanying folded ribbon is primarily green with a prominent orange/red zigzag pattern, fitted with a metal pin bar on the reverse.
