Description
This atmospheric watercolour on paper by Garman Morris depicts a tranquil maritime scene with several traditional sailing vessels, including larger smacks and smaller rowing boats, on calm water. The composition uses delicate washes to convey a sense of diffused light and a misty horizon, where a silhouetted coastal building or harbour structure is visible to the far left. The work is signed GARMAN MORRIS in the lower right corner. The painting is housed in a molded gilt frame with a double-lined cream wash mount.
