A trio of nocturnal landscapes by the artist J. Freeman, executed in watercolour and ink on paper. These atmospheric scenes depict traditional rural stone cottages and farm outbuildings illuminated by a full moon and warm light emanating from interior windows and doorways. Each composition includes various rustic details such as timber cartwheels, laundry hanging to dry, and stacks of firewood. The artist employs a detailed, illustrative style with fine ink linework to capture the textures of the stone masonry and the shifting night skies. The works are uniformly housed in dark wood frames featuring a gilt inner slip and are double-matted with dark green and gold mats.
