Lot 514:
Description
This collection consists of approximately 25 assorted decorative items composed of glazed porcelain, bisque porcelain, and earthenware. The lot features a group of bisque porcelain Pierrot-style clown figurines in various seated and standing poses, including several depicted playing musical instruments with hand-painted buttons and facial features. A prominent piece is an ornate reticulated ceramic wall pocket or incense burner featuring a central pierced dome and hand-painted geometric and floral patterns in blue, pink, green, and brown on a cream ground, adorned with multi-colored ribbons. The collection also contains a glazed ceramic decorative face mask with stylized colorful eyelashes and gold-tone lips. European-style character figurines are present, including a man in a green frock coat, a woman in a pink skirt, and a figure in traditional Welsh-style attire with a black chimney hat. An Asian-style Hotei figure with children is included, bearing a red rectangular mark on the base in Chinese or Japanese script. Additional objects consist of a miniature ceramic model of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a blue and white boot-shaped vase, a small ceramic mug with a transfer-printed carriage scene, and various small animal and character figurines.
Condition report:
One standing bisque Pierrot figurine is missing its left arm. A small white animal figurine exhibits a break at the base. Most items show an accumulation of surface dust and light soil.
