Vintage Carved Wood Dagger and Sheath with Cyprus Inscription
Description
A vintage fixed-blade dagger featuring a hand-carved wooden handle and matching scabbard. The dagger is constructed with a steel blade that exhibits a slight trailing point profile. The hilt is composed of a carved wooden grip with a foliate scrollwork motif and a brass crossguard terminating in ball quillons. The scabbard is similarly fashioned from carved wood, featuring incised floral patterns and a brass spring-clip retention mechanism secured by two screws. The front of the scabbard bears a literal hand-incised inscription reading CYPRUS. No maker marks or stamps are visible on the blade or hilt.
