Lot 652:
Two Spanish Vintage Decorative Glass Bottles
Description
This lot comprises two vintage glass bottles featuring decorative coverings, characteristic of mid-20th-century Spanish souvenir items.
The first item is a decorative amber glass decanter featuring a long neck and bulbous base. It is encased in a two-tone red and cream vinyl or faux-leather sleeve. The base section is further embellished with a cross-hatched cord overlay. The bottle is fitted with a removable stopper modelled as a black bull’s head with white horns. No legible maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior of the sleeve or the glass. The bottle is empty.
The second item is a dark green glass bottle, typical of a standard wine or spirit bottle form. It is entirely encased in an intricate, handmade macramé net constructed from natural cream-coloured knotted cord. The netting covers the bottle from the base to the lip of the neck. No labels or marks are visible through the mesh covering. The bottle is empty.
