Description

A single example of a Great Britain, Queen Victoria (1837-1901), 1887 Florin, cataloged as KM#763. The obverse features the crowned ‘Jubilee Head’ bust of Queen Victoria facing left, wearing a small crown and veil, encircled by the legend "VICTORIA DEI GRATIA" (Victoria, by the Grace of God). The initials "J.E.B." (Joseph Edgar Boehm) are present below the bust. The reverse displays four crowned shields arranged in a cruciform pattern, each containing British heraldic devices: three lions passant guardant for England (top and bottom), a harp for Ireland (left), and a lion rampant for Scotland (right). These shields are separated by scepters, with a central Garter Star motif, all encircled by the legend "BRITT: REG: FID: DEF: 1887" (Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith, 1887). The edge is milled.
