Description
This lot comprises a pair of framed vintage advertising prints, likely dating to the early 20th century. Each print is matted and housed under glass in a dark reddish-brown wooden frame with a gilded inner border. The left print advertises «SUNLIGHT SOAP, » depicting a young girl with a dog and baby animal, with visible text including «LEVER BROS. LTD.» and «PORT SUNLIGHT, ENGLAND, » along with «THE FAMILY WASH» and an obscured copyright date, possibly 1905 or 1908. The right print promotes «IVY SOAP» with the slogan «IT FLOATS, » featuring a baby in a bathtub with a dog, and is marked «Made only by GOODWIN’S MANCHESTER, » crediting «Picture by Fred Morgan R.I.» and bearing a «Copyright 1904 by Goodwin Bros. Manchester.»
