Description
A Louis XV style ormolu-mounted kingwood bracket clock, late 19th century. The ornate Rococo-style case, crafted from kingwood, is profusely embellished with gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts depicting scrolling foliage and rocaille motifs, topped with an elaborate finial. It features a white enamel dial with Roman numerals for hours and Arabic numerals for minutes, distinctly marked «PARIS» at its lower edge. A brass pendulum is visible through the open section of the case. The hinged rear door reveals the internal brass movement mechanism. The interior is lined with red velvet.
Condition report:
Good antique condition with expected patination to the gilt elements and some wear to the interior red velvet lining. Otherwise intact. Movement not tested for functionality or accuracy.
