Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 111:
Description
A pair of large, custom-made window treatments presented in a grand traditional or classical revival style. Each treatment features a deeply swagged and jaboted valance with a decorative fringe and tassel trim, surmounting full-length drapes. The fabric is a robust textile with a detailed botanical or floral pattern, possibly chintz, rendered in shades of red, green, and pink on a cream-colored ground. The drapes are secured by heavy braided rope tie-backs, each terminating in large, elaborate, multi-tiered tassels in coordinating cream and pale pink hues. These ornate fixtures are set within substantial dark-stained wooden window frames featuring classical architectural moldings, consistent with a period of late 19th to early 20th century grandeur or a faithful reproduction. No visible text or markings are present.
Condition report:
Excellent condition, exhibiting vibrant colors, unblemished fabric, and intact decorative elements. No visible signs of wear, fading, or damage.
