Lot 1232:
Description
A pair of 18th-century engravings attributed to Francesco Bartolozzi, each depicting an oval vignette featuring classical-style winged putti or cherubs amidst clouds, engaged with floral elements, suggestive of allegorical themes. The style exhibits Neoclassical or late Rococo influences, characterized by delicate coloring and fine line work. Each print is inscribed below the image with its title in a decorative script: «Spring» for the first, and «Summer» for the second, accompanied by a smaller inscription «R. Scrots» in the lower right corner. Both artworks are presented with wide, white matting, under glass, and housed in ornate, rectangular giltwood frames featuring elaborate carved or molded ornamentation.
