Description
An Edwardian Quality Mahogany Inlaid Dressing Table and Shield-Back Chair. The dressing table, crafted from polished reddish-brown mahogany, features a central adjustable oval mirror flanked by two small two-drawer boxes. These rest on a two-drawer desk base with tapered legs and brass drop handles. The piece exhibits crossbanded and inlaid decoration, characteristic of the Edwardian period’s revival of late 18th-century English Neoclassical or Georgian styles. The accompanying shield-back side chair is made from a similar dark hardwood, featuring a pierced and carved splat and a woven light green upholstered seat. No discernible manufacturer’s marks or text are visible on the furniture. The table lamp shown is not included in this lot.
