Description
An oil painting by Fernando Botero (Colombian, b. 1932). This framed oil painting depicts a still life composition in a stylized aesthetic, characteristic of Botero’s work with its voluminous forms. The central objects include a large, light-colored stringed instrument resembling a lute or oud, an open book displaying what appears to be musical notation or script, and several cylindrical objects (possibly scrolls) on a wooden surface. The background is dark green with a foliage pattern. The painting is housed within an ornate, possibly giltwood or gilded composite frame with rococo-style embellishments.
