Lot 1655:
Description
A lot of three framed historical prints. The collection includes two monochromatic architectural prints: one depicting ‘EUSTON HALL’ in an engraving or lithograph style, and another featuring a classical building study rendered on gridded paper. The third print is a sepia-toned illustration of an ornate 18th-century French Rococo mantel clock. The caption on this print identifies it as ‘French Clock’ by Louis Simon Pilon (d. 1772), from the Louis XV period, with an original design by Gilles-Marie Oppenord (1672-1742), and notes its location in The State Hermitage Museum, with the depicted clock having a height of H. 1045 mm (41 1/8 in.). Each artwork is presented within a matching gilded, reeded, and beaded gold-tone frame with a white mat under glass. The items appear to be historical prints or reproductions.
