Description
A Chippendale Style Mahogany Writing Desk and Chair. The desk features a rectangular top over a central arched kneehole, flanked by two pedestals each containing two drawers, all adorned with brass swan-neck handles and key escutcheons, and exhibiting subtle banded inlay on the drawer fronts and top edge, standing on tapering square legs. The companion chair has a shaped back with a pierced splat, a drop-in seat upholstered in a reddish-orange woven fabric, and stands on cabriole front legs terminating in pad feet. Both items are constructed from a rich reddish-brown wood, likely mahogany.
