Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 1665:
Description
The ensemble comprises a dark reddish-brown wooden writing desk and a coordinating side chair. The desk features a rectangular top, tapering square legs, and a central kneehole flanked by two pedestals, each with two drawers, all fitted with brass-toned ring pull handles. Its design suggests a traditional, possibly Georgian or Edwardian revival style. The accompanying chair is of a shield-back or fan-back design, with a carved central splat and tapering square legs, characteristic of late 18th-century English styles such as Hepplewhite or Sheraton. The seat is upholstered in a light, woven fabric. Both pieces exhibit a polished finish consistent with mahogany or stained hardwood.
