Description
An Ansonia Clock Co. ‘Amien’ model Rococo Revival mantel clock, circa 1904. The dark cast iron case is extensively decorated with gilded cast metal ornamentation, including elaborate scrollwork, foliate motifs, and a central crest, standing on four decorative feet. The white enamel dial features black Arabic numerals, an outer minute track, and a copper-toned, sunburst-patterned center, fitted with two black spade hands. The visible brass spring-driven movement is clearly marked «ANSONIA CLOCK CO. NEW YORK, U.S.A.»
Condition report:
Fair to good antique condition, exhibiting wear consistent with age. There is some loss and dulling to the gilding, and general surface dust. No obvious major breaks or significant visible damage to the case or movement. Functionality is not guaranteed and has not been tested.
